Movies from Childhood: Atlantis, the lost kingdoom.

Picture: Milo making contact with the Natives of Atlantis.

In today's blog, I'm going to talk about one of my favorities movies that I saw in my childhood. This movie is from Disney, and at the time it was realeased, it didn't recieved the attetion that in deserved. I'm talking about Atlantis, the lost Kingdom. I don't remember the year that I saw this movie, but it wasn't at his release date of July 15th of 2001. Im pretty sure that I saw it really later. Anyways, the movie is about how an cartographyst and linguisty from the Smithsonian Institute called Milo Thatch, who is obssesed with the Atlantis. He's looking for evidence that can proof his hipotesis about his existense, not only as a myth, all in the context of 1914. He couldn't succed looking for economic support for his investigation but he recieved unexpected help from an old friend of his granparent, who promised to help his friend to find Atlantis, only if he had the evidence for it, something that the grandpa of Milo found in a book in Iceland. Unfortenly, his friend -the granpa of  Milo- died before he could help him, so he decided to help the grandchild of his friend instead, to keep his word. I like it becouse the plot is very original for his time, it offers an interesting history and a diverse range of characters, who offer a good development for the plot. Now that you know the initial plot, what happened next, is something that you must watch.

I like to watch movies who offer interesting plots, like things related with space, aliens, civilizations, horror, and a good development of characters, movies that push you into the trama, like Alien, Arrival, The Iron Giant, Pacific Rim or El Hoyo, and many others. But, I dont remember the last movie that I saw, so I recommend these movies.

Greetings.

  1. Ohh, I always hear good opinions of Atlantis, and I have thought about watching it many times, but I always forget it. From what I´ve read from your post, I think we like the same type of movies!

  2. It's true that Atlantis doesn't get the attention it deserves, but it's a great movie. The movies recommendations look good, I'll leave them on my list to watch later.

    Regards!
